There is much uncertainty in the world at the moment. We don’t know if lockdown will be extended and what the long term effect of the whole coronavirus situation will be. There are many balls up in the air at the moment and we just don’t know where they will land.
While this might seem scary, the truth is that this time could be transformative for your business.
In this blog, we’re going to talk more about you, as a business owner. And why your business needs you to stay calm and focused.
Shifting Your Perspective
On our morning call, we as a team discussed how we think things will change because of the pandemic. One thing we all agreed on was that being adaptable and able to do business online was important to get through these tough times.
And no doubt, staying calm and focused is far better than giving in to panic and anxiety.
Chances are that many people are now thinking: “How can I take my business online asap?” and “Why didn’t I create a course ages ago?”
It’s good that you’re now thinking out of the box and looking at new possibilities and revenue streams for your business.
But there’s a problem with trying to pivot your ship in the midst of a raging storm…
Say “NO” to Overwhelm
Realising that you need to change your business or your offerings is great, but should you be doing everything all at once, in the middle of all this uncertainty?
A perspective shift is a good thing, but now you might find that you have a million and one ideas for your business and you don’t know where to start.
You might need to:
- update your website
- create a lead magnet
- start an email list and weekly emails
- create a course
- level up your designs (images)
- create new products/services
- set up Facebook ads asap
It can all be a bit overwhelming, especially if you’re not a digital marketing expert who knows the platforms backwards.
So we want to encourage you to just do one thing at a time. Stay calm and focused.
Do the thing that makes the biggest impact to your cashflow and business right now.
Doing a complete rebrand and is a nice-to-have, but it’s not essential right now.
What’s the most important thing?
Ask yourself what the most important thing is to move your business forward.
You might decide to stop doing loads of energy-consuming things and opt to focus on tasks that keep your clients happy and bring in some money.
Also, realise that your clients and customers are struggling as well. What can you do to help them feel calm and focused? It might be something as simple as giving them an extra week or two to pay you an outstanding invoice (if you can wait that long) or help them by providing useful content that will uplift them.
How we can help you stay calm and focused
We get excited when people reach out to us, usually in our Facebook Group, to ask us for assistance with their ads, ad copy or just their marketing strategy in general.
We’re excited because people are finally realising that Facebook is NOT just about social media, it’s a marketing tool to get more business.
And we love to share what we know.
We’re doing a Facebook LIVE every single day of the South African lockdown to keep you motivated. We share how you can keep working on your business during tough times, and we also do loads of other online marketing-related training as well.

If you’re already transitioning to an online offering, that’s fantastic.
